Bill Paul Named to Pupil Transportation Safety Institute Board of Directors

The Pupil Transportation Safety Board named Bill Paul, founder and editor emeritus of School Transportation News, to its board of directors, the Syracuse, N.Y., training company announced.

“We’re excited to welcome Bill to our board,” said Robin Leeds, president of the PTSI board of directors, a former industry specialist for the National School Transportation Association and before that the executive director of the Connecticut School Transportation Association. “Along with his knowledge of the school bus industry and his many contacts, Bill brings business acumen and marketing skills that will help PTSI become even more effective in assisting and supporting school bus professionals across the country.”

In addition to Leeds, Paul joins the following on the PTSI board:

  • Vice President Nikki Hughes, director of transportation with the San Juan Unified School District in North Highlands, Calif.
  • Secretary Kanoe Cockett, the retired director of transportation for Littleton (Colo.) Public Schools
  • Treasurer Arthur A. Tannar, president of manufacturing company Standard-Knapp Inc., in Portland, Ore.
  • Richard Dennison, president of Bus Parts Warehouse in Manlius, N.Y.
  • Ron Kinney, president of QET Management Services and a retired California state director.

PTSI is a 501(c) organization that has provided student transportation training nationwide since 1990.

Paul currently also serves as chairman of STN Media Group, the company that operates School Transportation News, Mobile Electronics magazine and related conferences such as the annual STN EXPO and the Transporting Students with Disabilities & Preschoolers National Conference & Exhibition.
