Connecticut State Director Promoted, but ‘Passion’ Keeps Him in Student Transportation Industry

Garfield Green was recently promoted from sergeant to lieutenant by the Connecticut DMV, but he told School Transportation News he isn’t going any where.

“I’ve been promoted but am not moving on,” he said. “I have far too much passion for the industry. They will have to fight it away from me.”

Earlier, the Connecticut School Transportation Association (COSTA) reported Lt. Green’s promotion in its March newsletter and the arrival of a new contact in the DMV’s Driver Education Unit, Marian Krivda. Krivda has been at the DMV for the past five years and was the assistant to former Commissioner Bob Ward.

COSTA added that it looked forward to continuing to work with Lt. Green as well as with Kriva and Joseph Ciotto on the Connecticut Master Instructors and COSTA Task Force.
