Espar North America, the subsidiary here of worldwide climate control company Eberspaecher, received the second annual General Motors Supplier Quality of Excellence Award on Oct. 1.
GM implemented the award in 2012 to recognize the top 7 percent of product suppliers who are compliant and meet a “stringent” set of quality performance criteria and also provide cross-functional support to GM. Suppliers are awarded based on their performance from the period of July 1 through June 30 each year.
Accepting the award at the Detroit Marriot in Troy, Mich., were Espar’s Ashu Aggarwal, quality manager, and Ioan Albu, operations manager. In a statement, Espar said product quality obviously impacts General Motors success, as it strives for the best in designing, manufacturing and selling vehicles.
“As GM, Espar is adamant about quality excellence and has worked hard to achieve and maintain their standards,” the company added. “Espar offers a HYDRONIC D5 Z heater assembly along with two fuel-pump assemblies and select service parts to GM. We look forward to a successful working partnership with GM.”
A company spokesman said Espar North America is undergoing a re-branding to Espar Climate Systems, following the acquisition of smaller companies with different products, such as the Sutrack air conditioning line worldwide and in Europe. Espar Climate Systems also partners with American Cooling Technologies on air conditioning and heating products for the school bus market.
