New Website Offers Educators Valuable Resources for 9/11 Anniversary

Just in time for the 10th anniversary of 9/11, the U.S. Department of Education has launched a new website designed for teachers looking for resources about this national tragedy.

The new website, which was funded by federal grants supported by the Department, provides a set of resource materials about the events of 9/11 and its anniversary.

The website also features a link to the grantee’s host site, where teachers can access the resources needed to map out classroom lessons and activities related to the 9/11 anniversary. Additional links are provided to federal agencies that offer even more resources about this historic day in American history.

Constitution Day is just around the corner as well — on Sept. 17. The importance of the Constitution and the foundation it provides our democracy will also be highlighted in some of the lessons, such as “9/11 and the Constitution” and “Good Citizens in a Time of Emergency.”
