NSTA Annual Convention Wraps with Appointment of New Officers

Magda Dimmendaal took the official reigns as NSTA president as the board of directors and members approved the appointment of her four other individuals on the final day of the annual convention in Baltimore.

Dimmendaal of Dousman Transport Company, Inc., in Dousman, Wis., succeeds Donnie Fowler of Fowler Bus Company in Richmond, Mo. Dimmendaal served the past two years as NSTA president-elect. Fowler moves to the position of immediate past president.

Earlier during the show, Fowler received the NSTA Hall of Fame Award for his service to the organization.

Tim Flood of TransGroup in Spring Valley, N.Y., is NSTA’s new president-elect and is slated to take over for Dimmendaal in July 2013. Flood was previously secretary-treasurer.

Meanwhile, Todd Monteferrario of First Student’s operations in North Haledon, N.J., was named to replace Flood as NSTA secretary-treasurer. He previously served as Region IV director, and he also was one of six recipients of the NSTA Golden Merit Award, which recognizes excellence in service, safety, and community responsibility.

    David Duke, the new CEO of Durham School Services was also appointed to the board as an at-large representative.
