NSTA Staff Member Abe Leaving Post for New Executive Director Role

Danielle Abe announced she will leave the National School Transportation Association on July 22 to become executive director of the American League of Lobbyists.

Abe’s new position begins Aug. 1 with the national organization representing professional lobbyists. Among her final duties with NSTA is the 2011 Annual Meeting and Convention, which starts this weekend in Baltimore.

“My time at NSTA has prepared me well to take this next step in my career and I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to work for NSTA,” said Abe, who has worked at NSTA for the last five years. “When I began at NSTA, I knew two things about the yellow school bus – it’s yellow and it showed up to my house each day. Now, almost five years later, I’m certain that I could convince most skeptics that they should put their kids on a yellow school bus and why every school district should strongly consider contracted transportation services.”

Abe also worked closely with the American School Bus Council.

No announcement had been made at this report concerning Abe’s replacement. NSTA hired David Hobson earlier this year as the association’s first executive director since 2004.
