Oregon Names Wiltfong New State Director of Pupil Transportation

Michael Wiltfong is the new director of pupil transportation at the Oregon Department of Education, School Transportation News has learned.

Steven Huillet, the retired director of transportation and current NASDPTS director of administrative services, said at the STN EXPO that Wiltfong adds transportation to his responsibilities as director of school finance. Huillet said he and Wilfong previously worked together at the Department of Education to determine the annual student ridership figures, average attendance, the number of new buses purchased by school districts and reimbursement rates as well as cost per mileage based on key performance indicators.

Huillet added that current pupil transportation staff members now report to Wilfong in the school finance department. Deborah Lincoln, employee services director at the Oregon Department of Education, announced Wiltfong’s appointment on Friday.
