WWLP 22 News in Massachusetts reported that over the Labor Day weekend, the 2016 Three County Fair wrapped with a school bus demolition derby.
Eight big buses and one small one competed in the derby. The last bus running won. Hundreds came out to see the spectacle in Northampton. Some say it was the reason why they came.
“We both work for a school bus company over in Gill, Massachusetts, so we thought it would be interesting to see such large vehicles wrecking each other,” said one gawker.
Local school bus sponsors cheered on their school and team. Students painted the buses. Of course the fair is about much more than just the demolition derby.
“What I’m trying to expect is a giant bus to flip over entirely and that’s what I’m looking for,” said another eager spectator.
The entry from the Ann Dunphy School in Williamsburg won the school bus demolition derby. They also won the prize for the best decorated school bus.
