New Bus Cameras Resulting in Tickets

Indiana Economic Digest reports that an Indiana district has installed new cameras on one of its school buses to catch people who disregard the buses stop arm, the cameras capturing the license plate of a passing vehicle and, at some angles, the driver.

“This is going to keep kids safe and that’s the main goal,” said the transportation director.

The district outfitted one of its buses with a camera system below the stop arm that swings out when the bus stops to pick up or drop off students, catching video of several people who didn’t stop for the bus and led to two citations.
