Tuesday’s keynote speaker, Lori Desautels, shared the science behind development in preschool brains and complications in special needs ones, so student transporters could understand and better interact with their students.

Other sessions covered topics that included minimizing expenses, sharing information with school bus attendants, enhancing preschool transportation, harassment in the workplace, cooperation between transportation and school nurses, mainstreaming students with disabilities into school and life, improving transportation staff performance and balancing technology with training for better accountability.

TSD Conference concluded Wednesday with a closing general session that served as a focus group for what attendees liked most about the conference and what they want to see next year, March 15-20, 2019, in Frisco, Texas.
