Allison Transmission Receives Master of Quality Award from Daimler Trucks

INDIANAPOLIS — Allison Transmission, the largest global manufacturer of medium- and heavy-duty fully automatic transmissions, announced today the company received the 2018 Master of Quality Award from Daimler Trucks of North America (DTNA). This is the third time that Allison has received this coveted award from DTNA, and is the highest recognition that a supplier can receive.

Allison employees welcomed DTNA representatives as they recognized the company with a 2018 Masters of Quality Supplier Award.

“The award is a reflection of the company’s focus on excellence,” said Brett Fisher, Product Development Quality for Daimler Trucks North America.

The annual award program recognizes outstanding suppliers that received high scores on their quality, delivery, technology and cost performance. This year, 45 Master of Quality awards were presented to DTNA suppliers, which is less than 4 percent of their global supply base.

“We are proud of our employees who consistently deliver the high-quality transmissions that meet the rigorous standards set by DTNA,” said Rohan Barua, VP of North America OEM sales for Allison Transmission. “Allison is honored to receive this award and to continue to build on our established relationship with DTNA.”

A partner for many years, DTNA is one of Allison’s largest North American OEM customers. DTNA is a leading heavy-duty truck manufacturer and includes brands such as Freightliner, Freightliner Custom Chassis, Western Star and Thomas Built Buses.
