WARRENVILLE, Ill. – Durham School Services, a leader in student transportation, successfully started new magnet school routes in Duval County, Fla., and is still accepting new riders.
In addition to beginning contracted home to school routes in the western and southern part of the county, Durham launched a new service providing transportation to students attending magnet schools. This summer, as a result of budget shortfalls, Duval County Public Schools cut all bus service to and from magnet schools leaving parents and students to find alternative means of transportation. Durham employees worked over the summer to answer parent inquires, attend informational meetings and set up magnet routes based on registered riders. The company, known for its intense focus on safety, is currently operating eight magnet school routes and continues to work with parents in finding the best way to get their children to school.
S. Taylor, a parent of a student using this new service, was very pleased with the transition. “Durham has been extremely helpful and always very quick to respond to all of the questions I have had,” she said. “Thank you [to Durham] for all of your hard work and assistance with this transition. “
John Ziegler, region manager for Durham School Services, says he was pleased the company could create routes to serve as many students as it has and welcomes all parents to call if they have questions or would like to know if Durham can transport their students.

Durham has reduced pricing of its service to $900, offers discounts for multiple students and one way riders, has created a payment plan option and will prorate the charges for any students joining beyond the first day of school.
