Webster Groves Selects Ride Right for McKinney-Vento Transportation

Ride Right, LLC recently announced that it has partnered with the Webster Groves School District in the St. Louis area to provide transportation for displaced students covered by the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act.

Under McKinney-Vento, school districts must ensure displaced students—children who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence—receive free transportation to and from their school of origin. Ride Right began transporting a portion of the District’s McKinney-Vento students to and from school and after-school activities on March 1.

The District, which serves the communities of Webster Groves, Glendale, Rock Hill, Shrewsbury, and Warson Woods, Missouri provides transportation to displaced students at 10 schools. The goal of transportation under the McKinney-Vento Act is to ensure regular school attendance through a solid, dependable transportation plan.

“Every student deserves the opportunity for academic achievement and social development, and ensuring they have the transportation means to receive a quality education is imperative in this goal,” said Ride Right President and CEO Alaina Maciá. “Ride Right is honored to work with the Webster Groves School District to remove barriers to education for these students in need with high quality, safe, and reliable transportation.”

Ride Right provides paratransit, fixed route, shuttle, and special needs transportation, as well as mobility management services, while delivering cost savings, efficiencies, and increased access to the communities it serves. Ride Right was created to meet the transportation needs of underserved and transit dependent populations, and holds a deep commitment to safety and passenger satisfaction while living out its vision of every trip is important. The company operates vehicles in California, Florida, Indiana, Missouri, Michigan, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas, providing more than one million trips per year.
