Three Latest NAPT Special Needs Endorsement Recipients Announced

Two dozen student transporters now are certified under NAPT’s Special Needs Transportation (SNT) Training Program, the association announced this month.

The 22nd and 23rd members, respectively to obtain their endorsements were Colleen Cavanaugh of Pupil Transportation Consulting, Inc., in Jefferson, Mass., and Barbara Rendon, a student transportation trainer at Humble (Texas) ISD. Cavanaugh completed her required coursework at the NAPT Summit and the Transporting Students with Disabilities (TSD) and Preschoolers National Conference.  Rendon completed her curriculum at TSD.

Meanwhile, Theresa Anderson of Anderson Consulting LLC in Littleton, Colo., also completed her SNT work this month

The program has a core curriculum that consists of six special needs courses in a variety of different settings, including a school bus roadeo and a trade show of school transportation products and services. The core curriculum is supplemented by two courses of elective instruction from the NAPT Professional Development Series (PDS) Program. The syllabus for the core curriculum was specifically designed to increase an individual’s specific knowledge about transporting students with disabilities.
