Bus Driver ‘Brake-Checking’ to Quiet Students

A North Carolina mother is alleging that her child’s school bus driver uses hard braking as a way to try to discipline passengers, reported WBTV.

“It’s negligence,” said Phillips. “Why would you slam on the brakes if you’re not trying to avoid hitting the car in front of you? There’s no reason to slam brakes. You especially don’t do it to get the kids’ attention.”

Officials for Gaston County Schools said they are “aware of the parent’s complaint and are investigating the complaint,” and added that they will not release video of the incident.
