After a New Jersey bus driver suffered a medical emergency and became unresponsive, several quick-thinking students averted a potential tragedy on one of the busiest highways in the state, reported mycentraljersey.com.
The students immediately noticed something was wrong when the driver missed the Route 22 turnoff to the school and began shouting. The driver failed to acknowledge them and the bus began to swerve until it finally slowed at a red light two miles past the campus.
The young heroes lept into action, approaching the bus driver and taking away his keys. They then opened the door to let all 27 students out.
