NJ Lt. Gov. Guadagno Signs ‘Abigail’s Law’

Acting Gov. Kim Guadagno signed a law to require some new safety features on school buses statewide, reported News 12.

“Abigail’s Law” would require newly manufactured school buses driven in New Jersey to have motion sensors that alert bus drivers when passengers are walking in front of or behind the bus.

The law is named after 2-year-old Abigail Kuberiet, who died after being hit by a school bus in 2003. The bus driver reportedly did not see her.
