Toledo Public Schools has begun implementing Wi-Fi on school buses to allow students on longer routes to work on class assignments, reports the Associated Press.
The pilot program involves 10 district school buses for students in kindergarten and eighth grade, and Wi-Fi connectivity is available to students in both the morning and afternoon.
Jim Gault, Toledo Public Schools’ chief academic officer, said the program is designed specifically for students who must ride the bus for 45 minutes one way. He added that Wi-Fi will make their rides “more enjoyable and productive.”
