School Bus Driver Off Job After Texting While Driving

A bus driver is off the job pending an investigation into a texting and driving incident. ABC12 noted that texting while driving is illegal for everyone in North Carolina.

According to the school district, a confrontation between the driver and a HJ MacDonald Middle School student was captured on video by the student’s brother.  The confrontation happened as 13-year-old Demitri Beasley was getting off the bus at his stop.

“I said I would prefer if you’re not on your phone while you’re driving our bus,” Beasley said.
