Students Ingest Liquid Nicotine on School Bus

Three Massachusetts were hospitalized Tuesday morning after ingesting liquid nicotine on their school bus, reported NECN.

According to police, an 11-year-old girl found the liquid, used in e-cigarettes, in her home. She decided to take it to school thinking it was candy. She then shared the liquid nicotine with two other girls on the school bus. When they got to school, they reportedly asked to see the school nurse because they didn’t feel well.

The nurse contacted parents and paramedics, who took the girls to a nearby hospital as a precautionary measure.

“We caution parents to be vigilant and securely store away all substances in the home that could be dangerous and easily accessed by children, as we all also continue to educate children about the importance of health and well-being,” said Brockton Schools Superintendent Kathleen Smith.
