Transportation Director Retiring After 17 Years in Job

Cora Pruss might not have been in the classroom, but she still learned a lot in the past 17 years as transportation director for the Carlynton School District. Pruss, TribLive reported, is retiring after working in the district for almost 30 years.

“It’s been a true learning experience. I honestly can say that I never regretted one day,” Pruss said. “It was a real challenge.”

She started working in the nurse’s office, doing basic filing. She soon would help in the transportation department, which eventually led to her job as director.

One of the challenges was the new school year and making sure the kindergarten students were on the right bus and getting off at the right stop.

“It was a nail-biter for the first two weeks. I would stay late,” she said.
