Two Wisconsin Siblings Hit While Waiting for School Bus, One Killed

A six-year-old Wisconsin girl and her younger sibling were waiting for their school bus along State Highway 73 in Waushara County, Wisconsin, when they were struck by a vehicle, reported First Alert2.

A pickup truck reportedly tried to pass the stopped school bus on Monday, which had its lights flashing, on the right-hand side when it struck the siblings. The 6-year-old kindergartener died before she could be transported to the hospital.

The sibling, a 4-year-old in a kindergarten program, suffered minor injuries. A news report Monday evening indicated the child was released from the hospital and had returned home to her family.

The children’s names were not released as of this writing. District officials reportedly said counselors are on hand to help with the tragedy.
