Va. School Bus Stop-Arm Camera Bill Signed into Law

Gov. Terry McAuliffe has signed a bill that will clear the way to implement a school bus stop-arm camera program, which was halted years ago when officials realized officers would have to hand-deliver citations, reported CBS 19.

The recently signed bill will now allow those citations to be mailed. Estimates put a count of 6,000 school bus passing violations each year.

The amended law goes into effect July 1.
