A Tennessee mother is demanding an apology after video emerged of a teacher dragging her seven-year-old son off the school bus by his feet last week, reports FoxMemphis12.com.
Another boy reportedly captured the incident on his cell phone camera, and the boy’s parent contacted the mother. Shelby County Schools in Memphis, Tennessee said the teacher was breaking up a fight just before the camera began recording.
But the mother of the boy seen being dragged off the bus claims he was not involved in the fight, and that the district didn’t tell her about the incident until days later.
The mother says her son suffered a concussion and bruises to his back, and she added that he doesn’t want to return to school.
The school district said it is investigating an employee at Robert R. Church Elementary School.
“We take any report involving student safety very seriously, and immediately reported this situation to the appropriate authorities. Per standard District procedure, this employee has been removed from the school while the matter is being investigated,” Shelby County Schools said in a statement.
