The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has $1 million available to assist tribal governments in reducing emissions from older diesel engines, including from school buses, as part of the Diesel Emissions Reduction Act.
EPA said this year’s program is the first time it has offered a separate Request for Proposal opportunity to these communities. EPA added the program resulted from feedback from these tribal communities for their own specific grants. Proposals must be received by Aug. 12. Information can be accessed on the National Clean Diesel Campaign Tribal page.
EPA is also hosting informational webinars about the DERA Tribal RFP on June 12, 17, and 19 at 3 p.m. Eastern.
Meanwhile, proposals for $9 million in other DERA money are due June 17.
