NCST Ships 16th National School Transportation Specifications

The Interim Steering Committee for the National Congress on School Transportation announced that the 16th National School Transportation Specifications and Procedures has shipped.

Established in 1939, the NCST has had the primary goal of ensuring safe, efficient transportation for school children.

Since 1980, 300-plus delegates from around the country have convened every five years to discuss the National School Transportation Specifications and Procedures, which contain formal recommendations for vehicles, equipment and operational practices.

The most recent NCST met May 17-20, 2015, in Des Moines, Iowa, where delegates deliberated and adopted updates to the 2010 NSTSP.

The NCST website includes links to the NCST’s adopted Manual of Operating Procedures, an organizational chart and other information detailing how to submit a request for an amendment or interpretation of the NSTSP.

For those who would like to order books, they are offered at $55, which includes shipping. Credit card orders are facilitated through the National Association of State Directors of Pupil Transportation Services.
