New Video Surveillance Feature Monitors Bus Driver Behavior

AngelTrax, provider of mobile video surveillance, recently announced a new tool designed to help transportation directors identify risky driving behaviors among their drivers.

The optional feature, aptly called Driver Behavior, is part of the company’s MotoTrax online surveillance management tool. Driver Behavior is designed to determine what potentially dangerous behaviors drivers are engaging in behind the wheel through the use of instant alerts, algorithms and comparison charts. Users can download video clips of incidents, such as hard braking and swerving to determine the cause and effect of these, and use them for statistic-driven coaching of the driver.

The company refers to Driver Behavior as “the most advanced in an impressive array of features in MotoTrax.”

“Instead of relying on a third party to send you only the video clips they think you ought to see, you now have access to every video clip tagged with an event marker,” said Richie Howard, president and CEO of AngelTrax. “When a fleet manager is coaching a driver, showing the actual video of their own driving habits can make all the difference between an okay driver and the new safest driver in the company.”
