WFMY NEWS 2 reported that a North Carolina bus driver was ejected from her bus and run over by a back tire during a Nov. 18 crash. No students were on the bus at the time of the crash.
According to a Raleigh Police Department’s crash report, a witness said that the bus went into oncoming traffic, came back to the right and then went off the road to the left where it slammed into a tree. After hitting the tree, the bus then went back to the right and again back to the left.
The witness told police she saw a female rolling on the ground and that the woman had been run over by one of the rear tires of the bus. After running the driver over, the bus continued off the road to the left, where it hit a ditch, stop sign and a mailbox, before coming to a rest.
The driver told police she had no recollection of the wreck or the events leading up to the wreck.
Police said they’re not sure how the driver was ejected from the bus.
The bus driver was injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment.
