North Carolina Teen Steals School Bus, Crashes after Police Chase

NJ.com reported a 16-year-old teen had stolen and crashed a school bus into a parked car and guard rail while being pursued by police in Cumberland County.

State police received the call around 11:05 this morning of a stolen bus in Vineland and responded to stop it.

The chase began on Alvin road and ended once the stolen school bus crashed into a guard rail allowing officers to board the vehicle.

The teen driver was identified by police as being a juvenile with special needs. No injuries were reported. The teen was then taken in for medical care and crisis evaluation.

Authorities have indicated they do not expect to file any charges against the teen.
