School Bus Struck and Turned on its Side in North Carolina

A Norwood HeadStart school bus was struck by a Dodge truck that failed to stop at an intersection on US-52. The bus was hit and turned on its side after a crash in Albemarle, North Carolina, reported WCNC.com.

It was reported that 15 children and two adults, including the bus driver, were on the daycare bus at the time of the crash. Several, if not all, of the bus occupants were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Dodge truck continued on after hitting the bus and sideswiping another vehicle. The driver of that vehicle was airlifted to the hospital, and is being treated for serious injuries at Atrium CMC, the report said.

The driver of the Dodge truck remained on-scene, and will reportedly be facing charges, which are currently pending.
