The Hawaii State Department of Education said it has restored all previous suspended bus routes in Maui due to a driver shortage, reports MauiNow.com.
The final two routes that service Baldwin and Iao Intermediate High School were filled on Monday. Currently all schools on all Islands are receiving bus service.
The Hawaii Department of Education initially suspended school bus services at Maui, Lahainaluna, Baldwin, and Iao Intermediate High School due to the school bus driver shortage.
To encourage more applicants, bus contractors are using the incentive of hiring bonuses and increased wages. Interested drivers without a Commercial Drivers License are also welcome to apply. CDL training and testing is open for applicants and takes approximately three weeks to complete.
