Former Transportation Director is New EDULOG VP

John Lyles, a veteran student transporter, is now the new vice president of business development and sales at Education Logistics (EDULOG)

Lyles moved into student transportation in 2003 when he became the transportation specialist for Muscogee County School District in Columbus, Georgia. Two years later, he started as director of transportation for Clayton County Public Schools In Jonesboro. Five years later in 2010, he moved over to continue as director at Atlanta Public Schools, where he remained until last year.

While at Atlanta, he helped introduce GPS and EDULOG routing software into his fleet, while also taking part in the superintendent’s cabinet, which helped the district regain accreditation.

At EDULOG, Lyles will work with the company’s sales and product development teams in order to better serve districts, as well as developing and enhancing new products.

“I always ask ‘How can I make public schools a better experience for customers?’ — by which I mean the parents and students,” said Lyles. “I want to make sure that EDULOG customers can use their software to promote that sort of transparency.”

Lyles also previously worked as a journalist as well as a consultant with school districts, advising them on transportation, planning, maintenance and training.

“I’ve known John for over 10 years, and he ran some of the best operations that I’ve seen at every district he worked with,” said EDULOG president Jason Corbally. “We have a growing product line, and technology is moving faster than ever … Having someone of John’s experience in that leadership role is going to help our team to do that better than ever.”
