Edible School Bus Brings a Merry Christmas

What Christmas season would be complete without including some edible decorations, especially if they are school buses?

The transportation department at the North Clackamas School District in Oregon held a gingerbread house-making contest. Two dozen staff members participated in making four festive and tasty houses.

Ryan Hahn, director of transportation, reported that the department “went all out. The entire staff of about 200 voted, and the house with the bus took first place!”

He said the activity was not only “very clever and creative,” it was a “fun team building activity [that demonstrated] impressive skills!”

A gumdrop Santa Claus was the finishing touch on this winning gingerbread house entry.
A “beware of dog” gingerbread house was a popular entry in the North Clackamas School District gingerbread contest. Note the cats controlled the coconut snowy front yard, though, within the Oreo wall.
A marshmallow snow roof rocked this house.
Gumdrops, peppermints and red hots candy for Santa’s Workshop were formidable competition.
