A stolen car in Puyallup, Washington rear-ended a school bus as the car driver attempted to escape police, reports The News Tribune.
The incident happened on Thursday afternoon. Noticing a Pierce County sheriff’s deputy driving behind him, the driver of the stolen car cut across traffic, hitting two other vehicles before crashing into the back of the school bus. No one on board the bus was hurt.
After abandoning the stolen car near a tree and dumping a handgun into a nearby pond, the driver and three passengers fled on foot, pursued by the sheriff’s deputy. Other officers joined the chase, and a follow-up article reveals that arrests were made.
The gun was recovered and the driver was charged with multiple felonies.
