Transfinder Names ‘Ambassador of the Year’

Transfinder says it is a better company because of Peter Lawrence, and the school bus routing and management software provider recognized the director of transportation at Fairport Central School District near Rochester, New York, for it.

Lawrence was named the second annual “Ambassador of the Year,” during Transfinder’s Annual Client Summit today in Albany, New York. Antonio Civitella, Transfinder’s founder, president and CEO, described how Lawrence provided invaluable feedback and suggestions about a decade ago after the company lost Fairport CSD’s business.

At the time, Civitella reported that Transfinder was undergoing tremendous company growth, but the quality of its products and services was not keeping up with client needs.

“True friends will tell you what you need to hear, not always what you want to hear,” he said. “And Peter Lawrence told Transfinder and me areas where we could improve, and we listened and made significant adjustments. We are a better company because of Peter Lawrence.”

Despite Fairport CSD moving on to another routing company, Civitella and Transfinder remained in touch with Lawrence. The relationship, Lawrence pointed out after winning the award Friday, resulted in Fairport CSD coming back to Transfinder because of the “core aspects of Transfinder and its ease of use. It’s not out there in a lot of products.”

“Something you would think is so basic, Transfinder has it and it’s necessary,” he said. “The one thing that I really appreciate about Tony and the crew is their ability to listen. When you have an idea they say, ‘Let me write this down. Let me put this in,’ and you feel valued.”

Lawrence added that he was honored to receive the award.

“It’s great to be back with Transfinder and I look forward to many years of working with the Transfinder team,” he said.

Transfinder awarded the first Ambassador of the Year award to Stephen Janes of Park County, Wyoming, during Transfinder’s Annual Client Summit held in Austin, Texas, last year. Janes oversaw the district’s implementation of right-hand-only bus stops for students in kindergarten through third grade using Transfinder’s Infofinder I software. The change in those stops likely resulted in saving a young student’s life.
